DR. Meir Buzaglo

Meir Buzaglo is a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the Hebrew University. He received a B.S. in Mathematics, Physics and Philosophy of Science (“Cum Laude”), an M.S. in Mathematics (“Cum Laude”), and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Hebrew University. He has written three books: The Logic of Concept Expansion (Cambridge University Press, 2002); Solomon Maimon: Monism, Skepticism and Mathematics (Pittsburgh University Press, 2002); Until the Day Prevails (Reuven Mass, 2007); and A Language for the Faithful (Mandel-Keter Press, 2009). He has also written several articles in edited books, and papers for various journals, including Iyyun, Alpaim and Metaphilosophy. In addition to his role as a Trustee of The AVI CHAI Foundation, he has been a member of the National Committee for Teaching Mathematics (2000-2002), member of the group of national responsibility in the Rabin Center (2001-2003), director to Misgav Jerusalem at the Hebrew University (2002-2006), member of Mo’etset Tarbut (National Committee for Culture) (2002), member of the National Committee for Education, (Dovrat Committee) (2005), and the head of The NCJW Research Institute for Innovation in Education (2006). He has just finished serving as Head of the Department of Philosophy at Hebrew University and is now on sabbatical.
